Just got a new Rawlings Heart of the Hide for my son. What's the best way to break it in? I've heard conflicting advice about oils, steamers, etc.

Skip the oil! Just play catch with it. Use a mallet to work the pocket. Steamers are OK but can damage the leather.

Light amount of glove conditioner, then lots of catch. Put a ball in it and wrap it overnight. Natural break-in is best.
